La verdadera forma de la Tierra. El Geoide.

Aunque la tierra se representa con forma de esfera, su forma real no es una esfera perfecta, sino un geoide. Su forma es irregular debido al relieve y a la fuerza de la gravedad y como consecuencia de su movimiento de rotación y de la fuerza centrífuga, tiende a ensancharse por el Ecuador y se achata en los polos.
